Every 10 years. the U.S. Census Bureau counts every person living in the United States to know how many people live in each city, county, state and the entire country.

By Phone: You can be counted by calling 844-330-2020
By Mail: Look for the census in the mail and fill out the form.
What for? These numbers are used to draw school and voting districts. Each year, the federal government distributes hundreds of billions of dollars to states and communities based on who gets counted in the Census.

|May 7||Nonresponse Follow-up begins (Census Bureau employees (enumerators) will visit your homes to complete the Census in person)|
|August 14||Last Day to Self-Respond to the 2020 Census|
|Dec. 31||Apportionment counts are delivered to the President|
|April 1, 2021||Redistricting Counts are Delivered to States|
