Join Us at the School of Unity and Power

The New Florida Majority’s School of Unity and Power is an 8-month political education and leadership development excursion that we created for leaders and activists in the state of Florida. We understand that if we are to take back the state for everyday working people, we must be committed to developing leaders that can adopt the skills learned through this program and use them to win progressive victories in their own communities.

Our curriculum will cover topics from understanding your local government to exploring economic systems. All SOUP curriculum will be filtered through a lens of race, gender, and class oppression. Every training will offer leadership development skills, organizing skills, and hands on experience through field trips and guest speakers!

We also believe in the power of love and community as a revolutionary force! So, we will be fostering a culture of learning that inspires team building and organizational support for all those accepted into the program.

These trainings have been put together by an ecosystem of progressive and leftist organizations in South Florida.

In just the last few years, our supporters have helped us stand up to the political establishment and reclaim our democracy: expanding voter registration in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, raising wages for workers in Miami, registering tens of thousands of new voters in black and brown communities, and shifting the balance of power in the Sunshine State for good.
